This neighborhood is bursting at the seams with little eateries. Many I have tried and will return to again and again...the rest are definitely on my list!

Tutta Bella - AUTHENTIC italian pizza and salads 4 stars
www.tuttabellapizza.com/

La Medusa - Sicilian fare..a bit spendy but good

Jones BBQ - OMG, this is some good BBQ, have had it before, though not at this location

Geraldine's Counter - the owners of El Greco have opened up this breakfast and lunch joint. The breakfast is fabuloso! Dinner may be coming soon as they work things out.

El Sombrero - Fancy Mexican fare: www.seattleweekly.com/food/re...olum.php

The Wellington - "Good southern cooking" as the article states:

Columbia City Alehouse - My friends that live just blocks away say it's a good one! www.seattlealehouses.com/colum...me.asp

We need to explore this neighborhood!!!

I would go with 1-5 to keep it simple. Although your review of the Elysian was ho-hum and 5 stars. I think you may have thinking 1-10 there.

When I was at the family reunion in Walla Walla last weekend, my wife's cousin raved about Tutta Bella.

    I haven't been there yet. Let's go!

I have a list of places my friend brought with her when she came for a visit. She is vegan and did a bunch of research on, as we would joke, food for "her people". I made her leave the list with me because we ate at some great places. Just for starters: Ayaya's in the U-district was some of the best Thai I had eaten, probably ever. Even better then Thai food I ate when I lived in Honolulu. I will dig up that list and post some recommendations.

Sounds great. Maybe we can go there for a bite after we finish judging the photo scavenger hunt?

Oh, yeah! I need to get with the scavenger hunt program. I've been a bit out of the loop lately. I'd better pop on over to the Seattle History tribe and catch up. Great idea, Jonny!

Ok. I liked Geraldine's so much last time Paige and I went, that I went again on Sunday for lunch.. Had the chicken pot pie - yum! Served w/ a homemade biscuit on top and all kinds of fresh veggies in the pie including big slices of muchrooms and not the typical square carrots and peas you get out of a frozen bag.. they were all hand cut. Tasty. We also tried a cup of their creamy tomato basil soup.. omg.. to die for.. love it.

Then.. the real test.. Kevin got the mac. Omg.. gotta give that one 5 stars. Tasted on the mexican-y side.. like pepper jack or bits of jalepeno in there.. we forgot to ask.. light breadcrumbs on the top, perfectly creamy but not too rich. And they sat us 5 min before they closed. That was very sweet.

k.. I'm giving the whole place 5 stars.. I want to eat there every day.
